Is it necessary to be a resident of Maharashtra to apply for these posts?

Yes. All applicants must be domiciled in the State of Maharashtra. This condition applies to every post, including Stenographer Higher Grade, Stenographer Lower Grade, Clerk, Driver and Peon/ Hamal/ Farash. Candidates must be Indian citizens and must satisfy the domicile requirement on the date of application.

Can candidates from outside Maharashtra apply if they meet all other qualifications?

No. Only candidates who are legal residents of Maharashtra are eligible. Non-domicile candidates are not permitted to apply for any of the posts.

Is Marathi language knowledge mandatory?

No. Candidates must choose only one establishment while applying. Once selected, the choice cannot be changed, and transfers are not allowed for the first five years after appointment.
